A Glimpse of Italy Through a Baby Boomer’s Eyes

Italy is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I had the chance to visit when I was younger and it absolutely took my breath away. From the rolling hills of Tuscany to the magnificent Coliseum in Rome, there is so much to see and do in Italy. I’m going to share some of my favorite pictures and memories from my time in Italy. I hope you enjoy!

Tuscany

One of my favorite places in Italy is Tuscany. The rolling hills and picturesque villages are something out of a storybook. I remember taking a day trip from Florence to Siena and being absolutely mesmerized by the beauty of the landscape. We stopped at a winery for lunch and enjoyed a leisurely meal with a view that was simply breathtaking. If you ever have the chance to visit Tuscany, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Rome

Rome is another city that simply must be seen to be believed. From the Colosseum to the Vatican, there is so much history and culture crammed into this one city. I remember spending an afternoon wandering around the Pantheon, marveling at the engineering feats of ancient Rome. And of course, no trip to Rome would be complete without throwing a coin into the Trevi Fountain!

The Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Italy, and it’s easy to see why. The dramatic coastline dotted with quaint fishing villages is truly a sight to behold. We took a boat tour along the coast which gave us views that we could never have gotten from land. And of course, no trip to the Amalfi Coast would be complete without enjoying some freshly caught seafood!

Italy is a country that truly has something for everyone. Whether you’re interested in history, culture, food, or wine, you’ll find what you’re looking for in Italy. If you ever have the opportunity to visit, I promise you won’t regret it!
