BMW is a German multinational corporation which produces luxury vehicles and motorcycles. The company was founded in 1916 as a manufacturer of aircraft engines, which it produced from 1917 until 1918 and again from 1933 to 1945.
Today, BMW is one of the world’s leading luxury automakers. It makes a wide range of vehicles, including sedans, coupes, SUVs, and sports cars.
In 2015, BMW was the world’s twelfth-largest producer of motor vehicles, with 2,279,503 vehicles produced. The company has significant motorsport history, especially in touring cars, Formula 1, sports cars and the Isle of Man TT.
BMW cars have been manufactured in Germany, Brazil, China, India, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States.
The Quandt family is a long-term shareholder of the company (with the remaining shares owned by public float), following brothers Herbert and Harald Quandt’s investments in 1959 which saved the company from bankruptcy.

Recently, the company has begun to expand its range of offerings in recent years beyond its core vehicle lineup with BMW i electric vehicles and BMW M high performance models. BMW also produces bicycles and provides financial services through its BMW Financial Services division. BMW Motorrad also produces motorcycles under its own brand name.

The History Of Speed Limits Is Fascinating..
The speed limit in the United States has changed throughout the years, depending on the needs of the time. The first speed limit was established in 1901 when horse-drawn vehicles were still common. The speed limit was set at eight miles per hour in order to protect pedestrians from being run over by these faster vehicles.
In 1907, the speed limit was increased to 15 miles per hour.
As cars became more prevalent, the speed limit was raised again in 1921 to 25 miles per hour. This speed limit remained in place for almost two decades until it was raised once more in response to the increasing speed of cars and trucks.
